Poetry

THE OLD MAN, SKELETAL

The old man,
Skinless, skeletal,
Wants nothing:
Give him nothing
To clothe his bones;
Hand him no coin
Or phrase of fondness,
But touch him once
As if he was alive.
Then, turn away,
For he will quickly
Pass into nothingness.
